2016 Jim and Bess McMahon of Kinglake
Sadly, we lost our last third generation link to the early Carrucan settlers, when James Peter (Jim) McMahon of Kinglake died on 4th August 2017, aged 97. A grandson of original settlers Peter and Hannah Carrucan, Jim had lived all his life in Kinglake, north of Melbourne. His mother Margaret (Mattie) Carrucan was the youngest of 10 children born to Peter and Hannah. Jim and wife Bess were farmers. Jim is survived by Bess, along with their 6 children James, Noelene, Josephine, Anthony, Peter and Michael, along with 17 grand children and 8 great grand children.
This photo, taken in 2016, shows Jim and Bess on their farm at Kinglake (source http://benetasheroes.com.au/hero/jim-beth-mcmahon/).
