Con (Cornelius Patrick) Carrucan was the great grandson of Patrick Carrucan who migrated from Co. Clare to Eltham in the 1950s. He was one of 7 children of John Francis (Jack) Carrucan and Margaret Ellen (Maggie) Carrucan (nee Doherty) of Cheswick.
