THE HAYES FAMILY

The Hayes line came into effect when Agnes Mary Carrucan (1881 - 1917), the tenth and last child of Peter and Hannah Carrucan, married Thomas Albert Hayes in Heidelberg in 1900.  This family line may be traced as follows:

Peter Carrucan and Hannah (nee Woods) ↓ Agnes Mary, the youngest child, married Thomas Albert Hayes in 1900 ↓ Francis Vincent (1901), John Joseph (1905), Thomas Albert (1907), Selwyn James (1912), Mary Agnes (1915)

With 5 children, the line was destined to grow quickly and it has produced a very strong and large lineage.

Agnes died 24th June 1917, aged 35 years, and is buried in the Eltham Cemetery in the same plot as her husband Thomas who died 26 April 1952. Their grave is shown below.
