VISITS -     THE EMIGRANTS RETURN

Taking a bus from Galway one winter's afternoon we came upon the "biggest little village' in Ireland; no, in all Europe!"

A number of Carrucan family members have visited Fanore over the years to reconnect with our Irish relatives. We think the first Australian family members to do so were Mary, Margaret and Kathleen Clements, grand daughters of Peter Carrucan and Hannah Woods, in 1965. They were followed soon after by their brother Kevin in 1969.

The list reads like this but is by no means complete. Let us know of other visits.

1965 - Mary, Margaret and Kathleen Clements
1969 - Kevin Clements
1970 - Peter and Joy Carrucan
? - Betty Pollinger USA

2010- Phil Clark
2011 - John DiSabatino
2012 - Helen Martin
2012 - Tim and Lois Erickson
2015 - John Manley, along with John and Matthew DiSabatino.  This was the first visit for Matthew but the two Johns had been before.
2015 - Simon and Ann Chmielewski with daughter Claudia

We were also excited when Michael and Gill Carrucan reversed the trend and visited Australia from England in 2008 and when Anna Carrucan and Celia Carrucan Ryan visited us in 2012 and when Patsy and Anne Carrucan visited in 2013.

Some of them have written brief stories of their trips and given us a number of photos. Check them out!
